  • All abstracts must be submitted through email as body text. We will confirm the receipt by email.
  • Title of the abstract should be within 20 ~25 words.
  • Body of abstracts should be within 350 words in length.
  • Presenting author should be indicated with asterisk.

Nirmal Kumar Ganguly, M.D was formerly a Distinguished Biotechnology Research Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. He was formerly President of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), as well as that of the Asian Institute of Public Health, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He was the former Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi; former Director, PGIMER (Chandigarh); and former Director, National Institute of Biologicals (Noida). He was past President, National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), New Delhi,  President, Indian National Science Congress, President, Indian Society of Immunology, President, Indian Society of Applied Immunology and Allergy, President, Indian Society of Medical Microbiology, President, Indian Society of Parasitology, President, Asian Society of Diarrheal Diseases and Nutrition and President, Lancefield International Society on Streptococci and Streptococcal Diseases.
Prof. Ganguly has published more than 775 research papers and has supervised 130 Ph.D theses as Supervisor/Co-Supervisor.  His major areas of research have been Tropical Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases and Diarrhoeal Diseases. His interest encompasses the disciplines of Immunology, Biotechnology and Public Health. Prof. Ganguly is Fellow, Imperial College Faculty of Medicine, London; Royal College of Pathologists, London; International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, Canada; Third World Academy of Sciences, Italy; and International Medical Sciences Academy, New Delhi. He is also Fellow, National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi; Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi; National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad; and the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore.
He is Member of the Advisory Group, Cholera Vaccine Investment Case Preparation, International Vaccine Institute, Seoul, South Korea. He is also Member, Global Access Advisory Committee, University of Western Ontario, Canada; Worldwide Anti-malarial Resistance Network (WWARN), Centre for Tropical Medicine, University of Oxford, U.K., and Asian AIDS Vaccine Network Task Force, WHO, Geneva, Switzerland. He is Member, Editorial Board of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada. He is Advisory Board Member, Grand Challenges (Canada). He is President, The Asian Conference on Diarrhoeal Diseases and Nutrition (ASCODD), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Prof. Ganguly is Honorary Global Health Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor, Boston University, USA. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Health, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, USA. He is also a Member of the Scientific Board, Grand Challenges, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has been appointed chairman of Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute-Stem Cell Committee. He is also advisor to Regional Director SEARO and is a member of Regional Task Force on Diseases Targeted for Elimination. He has been appointed as a member of  Global Work Group of the Advisory Committee to the Director (ACD) of Center for Disease Control (CDC), Atlanta, USA.

In 2015 he has been selected for the award of Helmholtz International Fellow by  Helmholtz Center for Infection Research, Germany for significant contribution to the field of infectious diseases. He has also received Professor M.V. Pylee Life Time Achievement Award 2015 by Society for Biotechnologists, India. He has received 119 Awards, including 7 International and 112 National Awards.  He has been honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award by Her Excellency, the President of India on 26th January, 2008 in the field of “Medicine”.
Dr. Muhammad G. Morshed is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (both First Class) from the University of Dhaka. He completed his Ph.D. from Yamaguchi University School of Medicine, Japan. Dr. Morshed has worked in many leading Institutions including the Bangladesh Institute of Child Health, Jahangirnagar University and ICCDRB. Since 1997, he has held a faculty position in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Concurrently, he has been the Program Head of Zoonotic and Emerging Pathogens Laboratory at the BCCDC Public Health Microbiology & Reference Laboratory since 1997. During his scientific career, he has published over 100 scientific articles, 2 book chapters and various literary articles. He mentored many M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. His research focuses on spirochaetal pathogens namely Treponema pallidum, Borrelia burgdorferi, and Helicobacter pylori
Dr Morshed also serves as the Board Director (Treasurer) for the Canadian College of Microbiologists, in addition to chairing and co-chairing multiple national and international committees.

Dr. Salina Parveen
Dr. Salina Parveen is a Professor in Food Science and Technology Program, Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, USA. Dr. Parveen holds a B.S. in Botany and an M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and a Ph.D. in Food Science and Human Nutrition, specializing in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida, USA. Dr. Parveen teaches graduate level courses in Microbiology and Toxicology. Her research interests are Food and Environmental Microbiology, Food Safety, and Water Quality. Dr. Parveen has an excellent record of grantmanship and received several awards for outstanding academic performance. She has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and presented her research findings at various regional, national and international professional meetings. Dr. Parveen also serve on several national and international scientific committees and the Editorial Board member of many peer-reviewed journals. Currently, she is serving as a major advisor of six graduate students, two undergraduate students, one laboratory technician and one visiting scholar.
